Hi, I’m Andrea Donadio. Chef, rep, and best friend of Lisa Predko. When writing and sharing this book, I have often been asked the question if Lisa has ever, or will ever, make these recipes on her own.
The answer? NO WAY! While these dishes are FOR Lisa, and those with similar preferences/restrictions, this book is in no way meant for Lisa to use as a guide to cook without me. I truly hope everyone who buys this book makes—and shares!—these recipes, I claim full real estate as Lisa’s personal, gluten-free, chef. :)
Another question I typically get is WHY? Why do you cook so much for your friends? Why do you go through the trouble of elaborate dinner parties? Why do you keep smiling so much?? The only explanation I can give is that I just sincerely love it. I love the challenge of a large meal, and even better if there are multiple guests having different needs. I love when Lisa, or anyone who usually can’t enjoy a truly good meal due to their diet, takes a bite of my food and closes their eyes and goes “MMMM.” Even better if it’s someone without any restrictions who takes a bite and goes “MMMM.”
Does this make me sound like I’m obsessed with my best friend? Yes, I admit, that is not far off. But in truth these recipes, and the time I spend taking care of my best friend, is a completely selfish endeavor. What I get back is an immense amount of love and support. Lisa is a friend that has been there for me since day one of my business, and is actually one of the largest reasons I even HAVE my own business. I sleep on her couch when I’m going through a bad break up and she tells me I can stay forever. I have learned so much from Lisa, both professionally and personally. She is one the of the best people I know and every day I am proud to call her my best friend! The recipes in this book are the least I can do for someone as amazing as her. We had sooooo much fun making this book to share with you, and are so happy to share our magical and tasty world with you. Buon Appetito!
